MAMUT | NEW SINGLE | KRUNA

Mamut is an alternative metal band founded in Rijeka in 2017 after the completion of recording material for their first EP Freak Show. After several lineup changes, a series of concerts, and the second EP Dead Idols, Mamut is finishing ground preparation for his first studio album. The band released their first music video in April for the song Nihilist and is now returning with his second, latest single Kruna announcing the release of their debut album.

The song Kruna (Crown) twists the meaning of the crown as a symbol of power into a symbol of degeneration. Through this single, the band tells the story of a person's movement in a circle, the impossibility of getting out of the loop and descending into madness. Main feelings which are related to this topic are anxiety, isolation and ruin. Except it is an ideal representation of sound throughout the album. This is the first song where Mamut guitarist Borna Žderić takes on the role of singer with with his fantastic performance on choruses.

The lyrics for the song are signed by Borna Žderić and Ivo Jurčić, and the music by the whole band. The video was directed by Ivo Jurčić. Hana Barić, a long-time collaborator and friend, is responsible for camera, editing and postproduction of the video.

This single also announces the release of the first studio album Nihilist, which will be released on October 30th via Snaga Records. The Nihilist is concerned with living in a nihilistic society and getting out of the rabbit hole imposed values. The album was recorded in 2019 and 2020 by Borna Žderić and Miran Milić in the studio Palach in Rijeka, mixing and mastering is signed by Alberto Bandino from the Cut Fire studio in Sardinia and the album cover is design by Zdravko Lovrić from Detestor Graphics.

Mamut consists of guitarists Borna Žderić and Ivo Jurčić, rhythm sections Nino Šafar on bass and Rok Božić behind drums.
