This will be the 19th year of Roštiljarka live. Roštiljarka started in 2000 in a form of a radio show and for 16 years was the main show for independent music in this parts, along with hundreds of interviews with world famous bands, live hostings, thousands of music and concert reviews and other content. Other than being a radio show, Roštiljarka began with live concerts and it's being doing so still.
Saturday, however, will contain an opening of an exhibition "Pula to je (k) raj" which will show Pula's graffiti dedicated to alter, rock, punk, metal and other music genres along with some of the best music pieces from the 70s, 80s and 90s and participation of some famous faces from that time.
Each and every graffiti in Pula has its own story and often tells a lot more than a lot of famous publications and encyclopedia materials. Often criticized as an act of vandalism, graffiti were and still are a product of contemporary urban art. A story of Pula's graffiti is a story about love and sacrifice towards music and cultural scene in general.
The main idea of this event is to tell a story about the music scene in Pula. The story will show how things used to be. That was a time when you could hear all types of rock, metal and punk music (The Ramones, Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedys, NOFX, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, W.A.S.P., Judas Priest, Metallica, Sepultura, Napalm Death, Morbid Angel, Sonic Youth, The Sisters Of mercy, The prodigy and others) coming from clubs, school events and private events. That music created new views and movements in these parts. They are a constant reminder that true values in culture and art are eternal. Some day they will go away but they will be remembered in many people's minds.
Along with graffiti, the event will be enriched with written memories of fans and bands from that time and there will also be live talks so the audience will have an opportunity to find out different stories about the beginnings, bands and other interesting happenings from the late 70s, 80s and 90s in Pula.
